HUBUNGAN HYGIENE RAMBUT DAN PEMAKAIAN BARANG BERSAMA TERHADAP KEJADIAN PEDIKULOSIS KAPITIS DI PESANTREN NURUL QOMAR PALEMBANG
Pediculus humanus var capitis is a type of obligate parasite that lives on human skin and hair. This study aims to determine the association between hair hygiene and the use of shared goods on the incidence of pediculosis capitis at the Nurul Qomar Islamic Boarding School, Palembang. This research is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design and was obtained by total sampling. The total sample is 146 students who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data regarding hair hygiene and the use of shared goods were obtained from filling out the questionnaire. Data processing uses univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The prevalence of pediculosis capitis is 20.5%. The results of the chi square test for all respondents showed no association between hair hygiene and the incidence of pediculosis capitis (p=0.112). There was no association between sharing mattresses (p=0.398), sharing pillows (p=0.921), sharing blankets (p=0.886), sharing sheets (p=0.281), sharing towels (0.324) and sharing caps with incidence of pediculosis capitis. For female respondents, there was a significant association between hair hygiene (p=0.02), wearing the headscarf together (p=0.016), and sharing the headscarf (p=0.017) with the incidence of pediculosis capitis. It was concluded from this study that in female respondents there was a significant association between hair hygiene, the use of the headscarf together and the use of the headscarf together with the incidence of pediculosis capitis. While for all respondents, the use of shared mattresses, shared pillows, shared blankets, shared sheets, shared towels and shared caps had no association to the incidence of pediculosis capitis.
