Administratively, the research location is in the Padang Ganting area and its surroundings, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra. The study area is dominated by morphology in the form of hills and high hills with rather steep slope conditions, which are dominated by relatively poor sedimentary rock lithology and poor land use, which are factors in the poor level of slope stability and cause landslides. The method used in this study was field observation and remote sensing using the Normal Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Relief Diversity parameters. Data analysis and processing were carried out using the help of ArcGIS software, with data in the form of DEM and Landsat 8. NDVI has a relationship with relief diversity; if the relief diversity index value is high, the vegetation index value is low. The landslide hazard map in the study area shows that the dominant landslide vulnerability level is in the moderate to high class.
