Background: The role-play learning method is one of the active learning methods played by students such as drama, simulations, games, case demonstrations, and various other things. The learning process in the role-play method prioritizes emotional involvement which can increase memory consolidation so that it can become long-term memory, and this role-play method also involves sensory observation in solving problems encountered in the scenario being played. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the role-play method on student learning outcomes in learning nervous system physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University. Method: This research is a quasi-experimental study. The sample in this study was attended by 66 students of the 2022 Medical Education Study Program, who were selected by simple random sampling. The sample in this study will be divided into 2 groups, namely 33 control groups and 33 experimental groups. The data used in this study is primary data in the form of a questionnaire made in the form of a Google form and distributed offline to respondents. The data to be collected in the questionnaire is in the form of student learning outcomes assessed from the pretest and posttest scores. Result: In this study, the results of the average posttest score in the treatment group was 90.15 and the average posttest score in the control group was 71.66, which means that it shows that student learning outcomes using the role-play method have better learning outcomes than the control group using conventional methods (Integrated Teaching). Conclusion: The role-play learning method is more effective than the conventional learning method (Integrated Teaching). Keywords: Effectiveness, Role-play, Nervous system
