EVALUASI KESALAHAN POSISI PASIEN PADA RADIOGRAF PANORAMIK PASIEN COMPLETE EDENTULOUS (Studi di Rumah Sakit Khusus Gigi dan Mulut Provinsi Sumatera Selatan).
Background: Panoramic radiographs are often used for the initial examination of complete edentulous patients. The results of panoramic radiographs often experience patient positioning errors which cause a decrease in the quality of the radiograph so that it might affect the diagnosis and treatment planning for the complete edentulous patient. The aim of this study was to evaluate the patient positioning error on panoramic radiographs of complete edentulous patients at the RSKGM Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Methods: The type of this study was descriptive observational that evaluates 195 panoramic radiographs of complete edentulous patients at the RSKGM Provinsi Sumatera Selatan from 2015-2021. Patient positioning errors were categorized into slumped cervical spine error, anteroposterior error, horizontal error, vertical error, air shadow error and patient movement error. The reliability test was conducted using Cohen's Kappa analysis. Results: The Kappa coefficient obtained was 0,815 and interpreted as strong agreement. All evaluated 195 panoramic radiographs had patient positioning errors with total 648 errors. The most patient positioning error found was horizontal errors as much as 155. Conclusion: Patient positioning errors on panoramic radiographs of complete edentulous patients in RSKGM Provinsi Sumatera Selatan were quite high and need to be minimized to achieve better quality in the future
