HUBUNGAN TINGKAT KEPARAHAN COVID-19 DENGAN GEJALA RONGGA MULUT PASIEN COVID-19 WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS DEMPO
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic is an outbreak of infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The level of severity when contracting COVID-19 is divided into asymptomatic, moderate, mild and severe symptoms. Oral symptoms have also been reported to occur in the oral cavity of patients with COVID-19, including xerostomia, dysgeusia, ulcers and bleeding gums. Method: This study used an analytic observational method with a cross-sectional study design. The research subjects were COVID-19 survivors who lived in the working area of the Dempo Health Center and were recorded as being confirmed positive for COVID-19 from July to September 2021. Results: There was a significant relationship between the severity of COVID-19 infection and xerostomia (P= 0.000), dysgeusia (P= 0.000), oral cavity ulcers (P= 0.002) and gum bleeding (P= 0.035). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the severity of COVID-19 infection with symptoms of xerostomia, dysgeusia, oral ulcers and bleeding gums.
