STRUKTUR ANATOMI BATANG TANAMAN LADA (PIPER NIGRUM L.) YANG TERINFEKSI JAMUR PHYTOPHTHORA CAPSICI L. DAN SUMBANGANNYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI DI SMA
This study aims to determine the anatomical structure of pepper plant stems (Piper nigrum L.) infected with the fungus Phytophthora capsici L. and pepper plant stems that are not infected with the fungus. This study used a descriptive method that described the differences between the anatomical structures of the stems of pepper plants infected with the fungus P. capsici and the structures of the stems of pepper not infected with the fungus. Anatomical observations of the stems were made by making transverse incisions with the paraffin method and observed using a binocular microscope. Parameters observed included (i) the tissue that makes up the stem organs from outside to inside, (ii) cell shape, (iii) the number of cell layers and (iv) cell size. The results showed that the tissues composing the stems infected with P. capsici and those not infected with the fungus were the same: cuticle, collenchyma, parenchyma, peripheral vascular bundles, sclerenchyma, central vascular bundles and mucous canals. Cell shapes include collenchyma, parenchyma and polyhedral sclerenchyma. The number of cell layers in both samples was the same, namely one layer of cuticle, 5-7 layers of collenchyma, one layer of peripheral vascular bundles, 4-5 layers of sclerenchyma and one layer of central vascular bundles. The size of stems of pepper infected with P. capsici were smaller than in stems that are not infected with the fungus. The results of this study can be used as a source of information and basic data in the study of plant anatomy structure. Keywords : Anatomical structure, pepper, Phytophthora capsici L.
