PERBANDINGAN KEKUATAN FLEKSURAL PERMUKAAN RESIN KOMPOSIT SINGLE SHADE RESIN UNIVERSAL DENGAN RESIN KOMPOSIT NANOFILLED KONVENSIONAL
Background: Conventional nanofilled composite resin has a good aesthetic properties and flexural strength. However, the color matching procedure for conventional composite resin takes longer and is more expensive to store various composite resin colors. To overcome this problem, a universal single shade composite resin was developed which can naturally match various tooth colors. Objective: This study aimed to compare the flexural strength between universal single shade composite resin and conventional nanofilled composite resin. Method: The type of research conducted was experimental. The sample was divided into two groups, universal single shade composite resin and conventional nanofilled composite resins. Ten samples of each group were made using a 25 x 2 x 2 mm mould. Flexural strength was tested using a Universal testing machine. The data obtained were then analyzed using independent t-test. Result: The mean of flexural strength of universal single shade composite resin was 110,40 MPa and the conventional nanofilled composite resin was 106,88 MPa. The test result were analyzed statistically by independent t-test (p > 0,05), indicating that there was no significant difference in flexural strength between single shade universal composite resin and conventional nanofilled composite resin. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in flexural strength between single shade universal composite resin and conventional nanofilled composite resin.
