PENGARUH KOMPOSISI BAHAN CAMPURAN TERHADAP SIFAT FISIK DAN MEKANIK UNTUK PEMBUATAN AGREGAT RINGAN DENGAN METODE PERAWATAN COLD BONDING
Lightweight concrete is a type of material that is starting to be needed in today's modern construction sector. Applied to non-structural and structural materials. In addition to having good mechanical characteristics, lightweight concrete has the advantage of having a smaller self-weight so that it can reduce the weight of the structure. Lightweight aggregates can be obtained from natural aggregates which have a light density or by producing artificial aggregates. The development of artificial aggregates has been carried out in previous studies. However, the potential for artificial aggregate development is still needed to produce lightweight concrete with better characteristics. The use of lightweight materials is one way to apply the concept of earthquake-resistant buildings, according to Indonesia's geography, which often experiences earthquakes. In addition, the mixed material for making lightweight aggregates based on fly ash, cement and lime can affect the results of artificial aggregates and can determine their physical and mechanical properties. Apart from the composition, another important factor is the curing process, the cold bonding method was chosen in this study because it is considered a cost-effective process. In this study, it was obtained that the mixed material for the manufacture of lightweight aggregates with specimen F75-C15-Ca10-R3-CB produced a water absorption value of 19%, compressive strength of 18 Mpa, impact strength of 27%. Based on these results, this type meets the mechanical criteria as a lightweight aggregate according to the requirements of SNI 03-2461-2002 and BS 812 of 1990. However, because the density value is 1133.76 Kg/m3, this artificial aggregate does not meet the physical criteria as a lightweight aggregate according to the requirements from SNI 03-2461-2002.
