PREVALENSI DAN PROFIL PASIEN KONJUNGTIVITIS DI RSUP DR MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PADA TAHUN 2019-2021
Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, which can be caused by microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, fungi, chlamydia), allergies and chemical irritants. The prevelance of conjunctivitis in Indonesia currently ranks second (9.7%) among the top 10 eye diseases. Conjunctivitis can affect all age groups, both acute and chronic. This study generally aims to determine the prevalence and profile of conjunctivitis patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang in 2019-2021. This study was an observational descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was conjunctivitis patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital in 2019-2021. Sampling using total sampling technique and data processing using SPSS application. Of the 93 patients who experienced conjunctivitis, 84 patients met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The prevalence of conjunctivitis at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital was 6.4%. The proportion of conjunctivitis patients based on age 19 - 65 years (79.8%), classification of viral conjunctivitis causes (45.2%), clinical symptoms of itchy eyes (42.8%), clinical signs of conjunctival injection and secretions (37.3%). The most common treatment given was topical antiviral (34.9%). The prevalence of conjunctivitis patients was 6.4%. Based on the age of the most experienced at the age of 19 - 65 years, the clinical symptoms that are often experienced are itchy eyes, the most clinical signs are conjunctival injection and there is secretion, the most frequent cause classification is viruses and topical antivirals often given to patients of conjunctivitis.
