PEMANFAATAN PANEL SURYA PHOTOVOLTAIC PADA HELM MOTOR UNTUK CHARGER HANDPHONE
The need for electrical energy continues to increase due to population growth, economic growth, and the pattern of energy consumption itself. The current depletion of fossil energy materials is one of the causes of delays in increasing the production of electrical energy. One alternative to overcome fossil energy sources is solar energy sources. The potential solar sources can provide a significant contribution if they can be used optimally by designing an energy conversion system that can supply energy needs. Photovoltaic cells are devices used to convert solar energy into electrical energy. In the current digital era, a smartphone is a communication tool that is the community's main need. To overcome the need for electrical energy to support the needs of community communication equipment, electrical energy originating from solar power is an alternative to meet the needs of community telecommunication equipment. This is supported by the location of the country of Indonesia which is on the equator and allows the use of solar energy to be converted into electrical energy as a charger for telecommunications equipment such as mobile phones. This study aims to produce the same electric voltage as a cellphone charger on a solar panel and analyze the highest efficiency of using solar panels as an alternative energy for charging cellphones. The results showed that the average solar irradiation intensity for 6 days was 911.368 W/m2. The average electric voltage obtained is 5.05 V. The average electric current is 0.106 A. The results of data processing are obtained in the form of an average efficiency value of 21.46%
