The 3D printing process requires an input material in the form of plastic filaments. In a printing system, it requires a printer, this printer prints the file format contained on a PC or computer, then only can see the final result of the product needed. For this reason, 3D printing was created to meet these needs. 3D printing is the process of creating three-dimensional solid objects based on digital designs. In the use of 3D printers, the filament has a great influence on the operation of the 3D printer, but the required filament is very expensive. To reduce production costs and the cost of plastic filaments, a tool was made, namely a filament extruder machine which was developed to produce plastic filaments. Filament extruder machine is a device that functions to produce filaments that can be used as material for additive manufacturing (AM) purposes. One of the important components in this machine is the filament winding machine, this machine is the final series of the filament extrusion process. Design preparation begins with making a CAD design, then preparing the necessary tool materials and continuing with the assembly process. After being assembled, this filament winding machine will be tested and the data will be analyzed. The minimum and maximum thicknesses of the filaments produced at a heater temperature of 190°C were 1.67 mm and 1.87 mm, while at a screw temperature of 200°C they were 1.62 mm and 1.84 mm. There are two filament thicknesses that are close to the target of 1.75 mm when the heater temperature is 190°C, namely at a screw speed of 4 RPM with a spooler speed of 3 RPM and at a thread speed of 5 RPM with a spooler speed of 5 RPM. At a temperature of 200°C, the thickness of the filament that reaches the target of 1.75 mm is when the screw speed is 5 RPM and the spooler speed is 4 RPM.
