Introduction: There are 828 million peoples in the world suffering from malnutrition in 2021 and Indonesia is one of a developing countries with a high undernutrion population with an estimated 17,7 million peoples in 2019-2021. Undernutrion is the nutritional status of children under five which is characterized by a thin condition and the result of body weight according to length or height between -2 SD to -3 SD. One of the factors that can cause undernutrition is the low level of knowledge about nutrition. The purpose of this study to analyze the relationship between mother’s level of knowledge about nutrition and nutritional status of children under five at Taman Bacaan Health Center in Palembang City. Method: The design of this research is analytic observational with a cross sectional approach. There are 42 respondents who were childrens under five and their mothers. The data obtained are primary data in the form of direct anthropometric examinations of childrens under five and questionnaires about nutrition filled out by their mothers, then analyzed using the 26th edition of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. Result: Most of the mothers were aged 26-45 years (78.6%), graduated from high school (54,8%), did not work (90.5%), and had family income below the UMP (78.6%). Most of the mother’s level of knowledge about nutrition (57,1%) and the nutritional status of childrens under five (78,6%) are in the good category. There is a relationship between age and last education of mothers with the level of nutritional knowledge (p = 0,022 and p = 0,035). However, there is no relationship between mother's occupation and the level of nutritional knowledge (p = 0.095) also there is no relationship between mother’s level of knowledge about nutrition and nutritional status of children under five (p = 0.211). Conclusion: There is no relationship between mother’s level of knowledge about nutrition and nutritional status of children under five at Taman Bacaan Health Center.
