APLIKASI DESAIN STRUKTUR BAJA BERBENTANG BESAR MENGGUNAKAN BALOK BAJA HONEYCOMB
Wide span construction demands have been existed and kept increasing for years in order to serve mankind for storage spaces, retailing spaces, meeting ha//, religious spaces, shelter, etc. Concepls of technology which i s expanded through a sophisticated demand has been allowing people to require a wide span construction without column along the space which gives people more spaces or uninterrupted spaces. It is honeycomb section of Steel or much known as castellated beam that could supply constructions with more stiffness and less self-weight beam. This study of design application is using both honeycomb section and it ’s Standard IWF section of Steel as the rafter for whole Steel structure according to SNI 03-1729-2002. The structure design will be modelled and analyzed using Midas Civil Software to ease the calculation. Based on the design outputs, there are comparisons between those two’s forces, stresses, deformations and boundary reactions. For forces (axial, shear, momen t) honeycomb has bigger percentage output than Standard IWF 0,05%;2,6%;8,6%. For stresses, honeycomb has smaller percentage output than Standard IWF 41,67%. Honeycomb has smaller percentage in deformation x,y,z than Standard IWF 35,69%;8,3%;31,45%.
