PUSAT PERBELANJAAN CIK PUAN KOTA PEKANBARU
The Cik Puan Shopping Center in Pekanbaru City is a manifestation of the theory of market evolution. It is known that the market continues to experience development and evolve from what was originally a traditional market to become a more modern market. This change also occurred in Pekanbaru City. One of the markets named Pasar Cik Puan is planned to be developed into a shopping center by the Government. For this reason, a planning and design study is needed that responds to the context of current needs. Departing from contextual knowledge and empirical studies, the completion of the design was carried out through derivatives from green architecture in the form of guidelines for the Subroto Award for Energy Efficiency (PSBE) for the Tropical Building Sub Category. Shopping center buildings are known to be one type of building with the largest energy consumption and as much as 57% of energy is allocated to cool shopping centers (International Finance Corporate, 2011). The design concept for the Cik Puan Shopping Center in Pekanbaru City focuses on energy efficiency through the application of passive cooling while still referring to the PSBE provisions for the Tropical Building Sub Category
