SIMULASI PANEL SANDWICH DENGAN CORE ALUMINIUM HOLLOW BERBENTUK KOMBINASI SILINDER DAN PERSEGI
Sandwich panels were created to achieve optimal weight efficiency with high rigidity and strength. The main factor in Sandwich Panel material is the lightweight core, which reduces the specific gravity of the material. The core used is a hollow cylindrical and square combination. This research aims to find the shape and material of the core that is good at absorbing force, and simulation testing is used to save time and cost. Three tests were conducted: compressive, bending, and explosive tests. The compressive test was conducted to find the core with the highest yield strength, which was then used for the bending and explosive tests. The compressive tests were conducted with two core configurations, namely using Al 6061-T6 and Al 6061-T6 with additional AISI 1010 material in the hollow section. The core height variations tested were 75 mm, 100 mm, and 125 mm. The compressive test results include yield stress, ultimate stress, platue stress, compressive modulus, and displacement. The core with Al 6061-T6 - AISI 1010 material and 75 mm height has the highest strength with a yield stress of 276.49 MPa. The compressive testing simulation also showed that the higher the core, the more buckling will occur towards the outer side, as happened with the 125 mm high core. The bending test shows a bending phenomenon centered in the middle of the sandwich panel, with the highest von-mises value of 500.6 MPa. In the explosion test, the peak acceleration occurred at 0.3 ms with a value of 21,732 G
