PROFIL KLINIS PASIEN WET AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION DENGAN INJEKSI AVASTIN DI RSU SRIWIJAYA PALEMBANG PERIODE TAHUN 2019-2021.
Age-Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) is a disease that affects the retina, precisely in the macular part. ARMD is divided into two, namely dry ARMD and wet ARMD. ARMD is the third most common cause in the world that causes irreversible vision damage (blindness). The most common cases of ARMD are dry ARMD at 90% followed by wet ARMD at around 10%. However, about 85% of cases of wet ARMD cause serious visual impairment and can even lead to blindness. The most effective current treatment for wet ARMD is anti-VEGF. One of the recommended anti-VEGF drugs is avastin, lucentis and eylea. Avastin is more recommended because the price is cheaper. The purpose of this study is to determine the clinical profile of wet ARMD with avastin injection so that the data obtained can assist the diagnosis and determine the clinical profile of wet ARMD patients after treatment with avastin injection. This research is an observational descriptive type with a cross-sectional approach using medical record data at Sriwijaya General Hospital Palembang for the 2019-2021 period. From a total of 47 data that have been studied, demographic data based on age is mostly in the age group ranging from 61-72 years (53.2%), gender in the female group (57.4), location of wet ARMD in the right eye (68.2%), patients with a history of hypertension (74.5%), and an increased visual acuity profile (44.7%). Keywords: wet ARMD, age, visus, anti-VEGF
