KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA SMP MENGGUNAKAN INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO BERBASIS PENDEKATAN WORKED EXAMPLE
Mathematical representation skills are needed by students to understand mathematical concepts and communicate mathematical ideas. The ability of students' mathematical representation includes 3 aspects of ability, namely: visual representation ability, symbolic representation ability and verbal representation ability. This research is a descriptive study that aims to describe the ability of students' mathematical representation during the application of Worked Examplebased learning assisted by Instructional Video on coordinate system material. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII.7 at SMP Negeri 1 Talang Kelapa. Data collection was carried out using tests and interviews which would be analyzed descriptively. Data analysis techniques in this study consisted of quantitative data analysis using student test results, while qualitative data analysis using the results of interviews from 6 students with high, medium and low abilities who would be selected based on the results of the test scores. Interviews were used to support student test results. The results showed that the mathematical representation ability of class VIII.7 students at SMP Negeri 1 Talang Kelapa was categorized as good, with the following details: the percentage of mathematical representation ability in the very good category was 15.62%, for the good category was 31.25%, for sufficient category of 34.37% and for less category of 18.75%. The conclusion of this study is that students with high abilities have been able to use visual, verbal and symbolic representations well. Students with medium abilities have been able to use visual representations well and are quite capable of using symbolic and verbal representations well. While students with low abilities are less able to use visual, verbal and symbolic representations properly.
