PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP MAHASISWA KEPANITERAAN KLINIK FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA TERHADAP MASK INDUCED ACNE (MASKNE).
Background: Maskne is a type of mechanical acne due to friction, pressure on the skin caused by prolonged use of masks on cheeks, chin, and nose. Interventions in health advocacy, medical education, and research are needed to avoid misconceptions about maskne. This study aims to determine the knowledge and attitude of clinical clerkship students at Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University towards maskne. Methods: This study is a descriptive cross-sectional study. Sample of this study includes all clinical clerkship students at Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University. The instrument used in this study is a knowledge and attitude questionnaire towards maskne which had been tested for validity and reliability. Results: Clinical clerkship students at Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University had good knowledge (69.3%) and good attitudes (60.4%) towards maskne. The percentage of good knowledge and good attitude towards maskne among students year batch of 2017 (80.5%) and (70.8%) and year batch of 2018 (58.0%) and (50%). Female students (77.1%) and (74.6%) and male students (60.7%) and (44.9%). Students who have passed the dermatology and venereology rotation (75%) and (67%) and students who have not passed the dermatology and venereology rotation (49%) and (36.7%). Conclusion: Clinical clerkship students at Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sriwijaya have good knowledge and attitude towards maskne.
