HUBUNGAN JENIS ETIOLOGI TERHADAP KATEGORI RESPONS PENGOBATAN PADA PASIEN ANAK DENGAN EPILEPSI STRUKTURAL DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Epilepsy is a non-contagious chronic brain disease characterized by recurrent seizures. Structural epilepsy has a high prevalence in Indonesia, including Palembang, and generally has a poorer prognosis or outcome to seizure control than epilepsy with other etiologies. Pediatric patients with structural epilepsy generally require polytherapy but are still exposed to seizures which have a high frequency. This study describes the etiological relationship to treatment outcome in pediatric patients with structural epilepsy at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method: This type of research is an observational analytic study with a consecutive sampling design. The data used is secondary data in the form of medical records on patients at the Children's Outpatient Polyclinic at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. The sample of this study were pediatric patients with structural epilepsy who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Results: The results of the analysis using the Chi-square test showed no significant relationship between etiology and response to treatment resistance (p = 0.751), decreased seizures by 50% (p = 0.965), decreased seizures by 75% (p = 0.410), and resistance (p = 0.410). = 0.751).
