PTP Nusantara VI Jambi – West Sumatra is a company engaged in the processing of palm oil. Palm oil dust generated from the processing process can cause respiratory problems for workers. Work carried out in a dusty place for a long time with an amount that exceeds the threshold value will cause respiratory symptoms such as coughing, coughing, and shortness of breath. This study aims to determine the relationship between respiratory tract disorders due to exposure to oil palm processing dust. This study uses a type of research with a cross sectional study design. The sample in this study was the entire population of 40 workers at the boiler and kernel stations. Workers at boiler and kernel stations who have respiratory tract disorders are 22.5% and 77.5% do not have respiratory tract disorders. The results of this study indicate that the variables associated with respiratory tract disorders are age (p=0.044), years of service (p=0.001), nutritional status (p=0.012), smoking habits (p=0.002). While the variables that are not related are the level of environmental dust (p = 0.081), apd (p = 0.570). It was concluded that the risk factors related to respiratory tract disorders at boiler and kernel stations were respondents with age 40 years having a chance of 1,548 times, working years 20 years having a chance of 2,229 times, abnormal nutritional status having a chance of 1,786 times, smoking habits having a chance of 2,311 higher risk of respiratory disorders.
