ANALISIS KESEHATAN MENTAL PADA PENDERITA HIV/AIDS DI KOTA JAMBI
In Indonesia, HIV/AIDS has a complex epidemic pattern with a wide area distribution and large population. There are more than 260 million people spread over 514 districts/cities where 90% of them have reported cases of HIV and AIDS so that it has its own challenges in controlling it. People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) will be vulnerable to the emergence of psychological problems and social problems, and will have an impact on the emergence of mental disorders. Many factors affect mental health in PLWHA, some of which are patient characteristics, risk factors, duration of therapy, side effects of therapy, stigma, community support and family support. This study aims to analyze the mental health status of HIV/AIDS sufferers in Jambi City. This study is a cross-sectional analytic study using the GHQ-12 questionnaire for mental health, family support questionnaire, and the Berger HIV Stigma questionnaire. The results of the bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test showed that there was a significant relationship between age, family support, and stigma with the occurrence of mental health of PLWHA (p-value < 0.05). However, the results of the multivariate analysis show that community support also has an important role, namely PLWHA without community support will be at 2.5 times risk of experiencing mental health compared to PLWHA who have community support. Based on the results of this study, further research is needed to analyze mental health in terms of medical factors of PLWHA, namely CD4+ count, clinical stage of disease, type of opportunistic infection, and medication adherence.
