In occupational safety and health, the latex coagulation process carried out by rubber tapping farm workers has the potential danger of being exposed to the chemicals used, moreover most of them only use their bare hands when carrying out the latex coagulation process. This can put them at risk for developing contact dermatitis symptoms. Broadly speaking, contact dermatitis is caused by external and internal factors. This study aims to determine the factors associated with exposure to latex coagulation chemicals on contact dermatitis symptoms in rubber tapping farm workers in Dusun 2 Sidorejo, Limau Village. This research is a type of quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. The sample of this study amounted to 44 people who were taken using a non-probability sampling method with a purposive sampling technique, namely the determination of the sample based on certain criteria. Data analysis techniques were carried out through univariate analysis and bivariate analysis (chi-square test). The data are then presented in the form of a frequency distribution table for univariate analysis and a cross table for bivariate analysis accompanied by the explanation assumptions. The results showed that of 44 respondents, 52.3% of them had contact dermatitis symptoms and 47.7% of respondents had no symptoms. There was no relationship between length of contact (p = 0.138), frequency of contact (p = 0.317), age (p = 1,000), gender (p = 0.978), and years of service (p = 1,000) on the symptoms of contact dermatitis. There was a relationship between the use of PPE (p = 0.048) and personal hygiene (p = 0.003) on the symptoms of contact dermatitis. It is hoped that the rubber tapping farm workers have the awareness to maintain good personal hygiene and use complete personal protective equipment when in contact with chemicals.
