This study aims to determine the role of parents in fostering the social development of children aged (5-6) years in Muara Dua Village, Pemulutan Ogan Ilir District. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used in this study is the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data collection, reducing data obtained from the field, presenting data in the form of short narratives and data validity techniques, namely triangulation. The research subjects consisted of 4 parents who had children aged (5-6) years and attended Pembina Pemulutan Public Kindergarten. The results showed that the role of parents in fostering children's social development, namely parents as guides, as motivators, as facilitators, as supervisors, and as friends for children.
