This study aims to describe the numeracy abilities of class VIII students in solving problems in the context of the Balaputra Dewa Museum collection on straight line equations. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach and was carried out face-to-face, with the research subjects being class VIII.3 students of SMP Negeri 59 Palembang. Data collection techniques were carried out through student observation, numeracy skills tests and student interviews. In this study, 2 questions were used in the context of the Balaputra Dewa Museum collection. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion that has been carried out, students are able to use various kinds of numbers or symbols related to basic mathematics in solving everyday life problems quite well even though there are still students who have difficulty determining the gradient formula that is made. In the indicators of analyzing information displayed in various forms (graphs, tables, charts and so on) this indicator is the indicator that appears the most. Meanwhile, the indicator interpreting the results of the analysis to predict and make decisions is an indicator that appears slightly compared to the other two indicators. However, overall this indicator can be said to be quite good because there are students who are able to interpret the gradient they have obtained and make decisions correctly.
