HUBUNGAN DURASI MENGGUNAKAN GADGET DENGAN STATUS GIZI PADA REMAJA SMP NEGERI 12 KOTA PALEMBANG
Adolescence is a period of transition from children to adults. Adolescents are a vulnerable age for nutritional problems. In adolescents, excessive use of gadgets is related to nutritional status, high use of gadgets results in low activity levels, making eating patterns less appropriate so that it can affect nutritional status. This study aims to determine the relationship between the duration of using gadgets and the nutritional status of adolescents at SMP Negeri 12 in Palembang City. In this research, there are intermediary variables, namely diet and physical activity. This type of research is descriptive analytic using a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study amounted to 50 samples selected by simple random sampling method. The data were processed by univariate and bivariate using chi-square test. The results of this study indicate that there are 82% of respondents using gadgets with high duration, 74% of respondents are not active in physical activity, 82% of respondents have a bad diet, and 30% of respondents are undernourished, 14% are overweight and 2% are obese. Bivariate results show that there is a relationship between duration of using gadgets and nutritional status (p-value = 0.028). It is recommended that parents and schools can direct the behavior of using gadgets, physical activity, and patterns in accordance with existing recommendations because there are still many teenagers who have a high duration of gadget use, lack of physical activity, and have bad eating patterns.
