The purpose of this study was to determine the types of learning media that can be used by biology teachers. The subjects of this study were students of class XI of public and private high schools in the city of Palembang through the stratified sampling technique because it involved public and private schools with A, B, and C accreditation. The 3 public schools and 9 schools include 12 teachers and 371 students with a total population of 114 schools. The type of research used is descriptive research. Data collection techniques include interviews, documentation studies, and student interest questionnaires as well as student and teacher perceptions of the use of biology learning media to collect research data. The results of the research on Identification of Types of Learning Media Used by Biology Teachers at High School Palembang City Class XI Science SMA Negeri and Private in Palembang City are Visual (Print books, pictures, real objects, artificial objects, worksheets students, chart (Powerpoint and learning videos) and Audio Visual). The results of the student perception questionnaire show that the learning media used by biology teachers in class XI science in Public and Private SMA in Palembang City is classified as very good. The results show that teachers have used learning media in the teaching and learning process well. In addition, teachers are also skilled in managing learning so that children become more active in the learning process. It does not escape the use of interesting media.
