This research is about the role of farmer groups in improving the welfare of rice farmers in Sungai Rengit Murni Village Talang Kelapa Sub-District Banyuasin District, held in April 2021. This research aims to: (1) to determine the role of farmer groups in Sungai Rengit Murni Village Talang Kelapa Sub-District Banyuasin District (2) to determine the welfare level of rice farmers in Sungai Rengit Murni Village Talang Kelapa Sub-District Banyuasin District, and (3) to analyze the relationship of the role of farmer groups to the welfare level of rice farmers in Sungai Rengit Murni Village Talang Kelapa Sub-District Banyuasin District. The research method used in this study is a survey method and the data were collected through direct interviews and distributing questionnaires to 30 rice farmers. Research indicators include the role of farmer groups and the level of welfare based on KHL standards according to the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2020 concerning Decent Living Needs. The results showed that the role of farmer groups in Sungai Rengit Murni Village was in the moderate category of 33.7 and the level of welfare of farmers based on rice farming income was 13,00% of farming families classified as prosperous and 87,00% not prosperous. Meanwhile, based on the total income of farming families are classified as prosperous and 33,33% are not prosperous. Then, the result of Rank Spearman analysis and significance test at trust level 95%, the role of farmer groups didn’t had correlation with welfare level of rice farmers.
