This research aims to determine the effect of organic fertilizer from cow manure on growth and production of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) Bima Brebes variety on floating cultivation system. The research was carried out in Embung located in the Experimental Field of Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra (104°64'86”E; 3°22'51”S) from May to August 2022. The study was conducted using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 1 treatment factor. The treatment was the dose of cow manure consisting of 4 levels with 3 replications and 3 plants per unit resulting in total 36 plants. The treatment consisted of P0 = 9:0 ratio of soil and cow manure volume, P1 = 8:1 ratio of soil and cow manure volume, P2 = 7:2 ratio of soil and cow manure and P3 = 6:3 ratio of soil and cow manure volume. Parameters observed included leaf length, number of leaves, number of tillers, leaf greenness, leaf chlorophyll content, bulb diameter, root length, bulb fresh weight, bulb fresh weight, bulb air-dried weight, bulb dry weight, number of bulb. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded that the best fertilizer composition was from P2 treatment (7:2) as indicated from almost all parameters observed, except on the parameters of number of tillers, chlorophyll content, root length and number of bulbs.
