RESPON BEBERAPA AKSESI TANAMAN PORANG (AMORPHOPHALLUS MUELLERI BLUME) TERHADAP SISTEM POLIKULTUR DENGAN TANAMAN KARET
Polyculture is planting of more than one different type of crops on one of land. The porang plant can grow in the shade, so it is suitable to be plants between rubber crops. The purpose of this study was to examine effect of cultivating porang plant on polyculture with rubber crops and had been carried out at the rubber Research Station, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatera, from November 2021 to May 2022. This research designed with random block design (RDB). There were 5 accessions of porang crops from various regions, namely Tanjung Raja (V1), Sembawa (V2), Sungai Lilin (V3), Jejawi (V4), and Pedamaran (V5). The condition of rubber plantations had a significant effect on the leaf width of the porang crops, and not significant on the number of bulbils on the porang crops. Particularly for the response of rubber crops, a comparison was made between 3 rubber fields with different treatments, namely polyculture yards, only plowed rubber yards, and untreated yards. The results showed that the polyculture system had a positive effect on the yield of rubber latex.
