AKTIVITAS PUPASIDA JAMUR ENTOMOPATOGEN ASAL TANAH RAWA LEBAK TERHADAP Spodoptera frugiperda DAN PEMACU PERTUMBUHAN CABAI (Capsicum annuum L.).
Spodoptera frugiperda is a cosmopolitan polyphagous pest that attacks various plants in Indonesia, both in the vegetative and generative phases. Spodoptera frugiperda has as many as 353 host plants from 76 families. Control by utilizing entomopathogenic fungi is one of the efforts made to suppress this pest attack, besides that it is also useful as a plant growth promoter. Therefore, this study aimed to examine and determine the effect of entomopathogenic fungal bioinsecticide from soil of freshwater swamps on chili growth and its effectiveness against Spodoptera frugiperda. This research was carried out at the Entomology Laboratory and Greenhouse of the Plant Protection Study Program, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from March 2020 to June 2022. This experiment was carried out using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) using 4 treatments (BKbTp, BSwTd4, MSwTp1 and MSwtp3) and control were repeated three times using 375 test insects Spodoptera frugiperda and chili plants. Observations of Spodoptera frugiperda were carried out with variables including pupa weight, percentage of pupae appearing and pupae dying, number of pupae appearing (normal and abnormal), pupa mortality, LT50 and LT95 values. Observations of plant phenology were carried out every two weeks with variables including plant height, number of leaves, number of flowers, number of small fruit, number of medium fruit, number of ripe fruit, weight of ripe fruit, number of unripe fruit, weight of unripe fruit, root length, wet weight and dry weight. The experimental results showed that there was a significant effect between control and treatment on chili phenology on plant height (35, 49, 119, 133 and 147 dap), number of chili leaves (119 dap), medium fruit number (105, 119, 133 and 147 dap). , number of ripe fruit (140, 146, 149, 158 and 161 dap), weight of ripe fruit (113, 137, 149, 158 and 161 dap), number of unripe fruit (116, 122, 125, 128, 131, 134, 137, 140, 143, 149, 152, 155, 158 and 161 dap), unripe fruit weight (161 dap), root length, wet weight and dry weight. No significant effect on the number of flowers and the number of small fruit. The results of observations of Spodoptera frugiperda test insects showed that the lowest percentage of pupae appeared in the BKbTp treatment, which was 20% with 15 pupae. Meanwhile, the highest percentage of pupal mortality was in the BKbTp treatment which reached 80% and the shortest LT50 and LT95 were 3.03 days and 4.99 days, showing symptoms of abnormal pupa size, dark color and stunted shape. The conclusion of this study is that the application of bioinsecticides for entomopathogenic fungi from soil of freshwater swamp with the MSwTp1 isolate code applied was able to act as a significant growth regulator for chili and the application of bioinsecticides had an effect on having potential as a pupacidal because it was able to achieve 80% efficacy against Spodoptera frugiperda pupae.
