Knowledge is an organization's strategic asset so it requires knowledge management in managing it so that knowledge can be of value to the organization. However, the application of knowledge management requires careful preparation to reduce the risk of failure in its application. This study aims to assess the readiness of implementing knowledge management at the Department of Communication Informatics Statistics and Codes Service using the APO KM Assessment Tool, which consists of seven variables, namely leadership, process, people, technology, knowledge process, learning and innovation, and outcomes. From the results of the assessment, it was found that the readiness level of knowledge management in this institution was at the Refinement level with a total score of 160.73. From the results of the tests conducted, it was also found that the people variable has a significant effect on outcomes.
