KHAIRI SARDILLA. The effect of repellent plants on phythophagic insect diversity on the land of bush bean (phaseolus vulgaris L) in research land faculty of agriculture, sriwijaya university (Supervised by CHANDRA IRSAN). Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L) is a type of vegetable plant contains good nutrition for the body and has a fairly high market opportunity. Repellent plants are plants that have secondary metabolite compounds that can repel insects. Phytophagous insects are plant-eating insects which, when they reach the economic threshold and cause losses, are called pests. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of repellents on kenikir, basil, and citronella plants on phytophagous insect species in bush bean plants. This research was conducted in September-December 2022. The study was conducted using four treatments and four replications. The results showed that repellent plants have an effect on phytophagous insects on bush bean plants. The effect of repellent plants on phytophagous insects that are active in the air is 24-43% and on phytophagous insects that are active in the soil is 16%-30%. The index value is influenced by phytophagous insects that are active in air the dominance index value is low, and the index value is evenness is high. The index value of the influence of active phytophagous insects on the ground is medium, the dominance index value is high, and the index value of evenness is medium.
