This study aims to determine the effect of temulawak extract (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) on the performance of broiler chickens. This research was held from August to September 2022 in the experimental animal farm laboratory of the Department of Animal Technology and Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Eighty (80) daily old chicken of Lohmann MB-202 strains obtained from PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk was applied to a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were P0 (control), P1 (0.5% temulawak extract/kg chicken body weight), P2 (1% temulawak extract/kg chicken body weight) and P3 (1.5% temulawak extract/kg chicken body weight). The observed parameters were feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The results showed that, feed consumption ranged from 2945.5 – 3106.9 g/head, body weight gain ranged from 1887.8 – 1970.0 g/head, and feed conversion ranged from 1.55 - 1.61. The results of this study showed that the administration of temulawak extract had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the performance of broiler chickens which included feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The conclusion is that the administration of temulawak extract up to a dose of 1.5%/kg of chicken body weight given orally has not been able to improve the performance of broiler chickens.
