Teacher's knowledge and experience at SMA IBA Palembang are still present in each teacher and have not been recorded in a system. Consequently, when a SMA IBA Palembang teacher retires from his job, his or her knowledge and experience will be lost. This study aimed to develop a knowledge management system at SMA IBA Palembang. Therefore, a user experience design is required to develop the Knowledge Management System to obtain positive results for its users, particularly in terms of usability and user experience. Design Thinking is one user experience design method that may be utilised to design this system. The application of the Design Thinking method to develop a Knowledge Management System assists in identifying the issues and requirements of existing users to generate an exemplary user interface and user experience for the Knowledge Management System under the necessities of users at SMA IBA Palembang.
