Vegetable production in South Sumatra is mainly peanut production. soybeans, papayas, bananas, long beans, chilies, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, kale, spinach and green beans in 2012. South Sumatra has considerable potential for vegetable growth. The agricultural sector plays an important role in overcoming poverty. Development in various fields has opened wide opportunities for people to work other than in the agricultural sector. This phenomenon shows that there has been a secular movement of labor from the agricultural to non-agricultural sectors. Industrial development in urban areas, shrinking land ownership by farmers, and modernization of development are the causes of the scarcity of agricultural labor in rural areas. The concept of Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is an indicator in determining the level of farmer welfare. The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze the outpouring of vegetable farmers in the Talang Keramat Village, Banyuasin Regency. (2) Analyze household income of vegetable farmers in Talang Keramat Village, Banyuasin Regency. (2) Analyzing welfare based on the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) from vegetable farming. This research will be conducted in Talang Keramat Village, Banyuasin Regency. The research location was chosen deliberately (purposive sampling location). Data collection in the field was carried out in November 2019. The data collected were primary and secondary data. The research method used is a survey method. The results of the research that have been carried out can be concluded (1) The outpouring of labor in this study shows that the average allocation of working time for vegetable farming in the Talang Keramat Village is 181.35 HOK / lg / year with details of male personnel 94.99 HOK / lg / year and Female 86.36 HOK / lg / year. (2) The average total income obtained by vegetable farmers in Talang Keramat Village,Banyuasin Regency is IDR 18,530,477 per arable area per year or IDR 1,544,206 per area cultivated per month. (3) NTP in vegetable farming towards food income has been prosperous in meeting food needs, but NTP in vegetable farming towards household expenditures in Talang Keramat Village, Banyuasin Regency is deficit (not prosperous).
