DAMPAK VARIABILITAS IKLIM TERHADAP STRATEGI ADAPTASI DAN PENDAPATAN USAHATANI PADI DI DESA KIJANG ULU KECAMATAN KAYUAGUNG KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR
The purposes of this research were 1) to analyze farmers' perceptions of climate variability in Kijang Ulu Village. 2) Calculating changes in farmers' income due to climate variability in Kijang Ulu Village. 3) Analyze the adaptation strategies carried out by farmers in dealing with climate variability in Kijang Ulu Village. 4) Analyze what factors influence the costs of adaptation of farmers to climate variability in Kijang Ulu Village. The research location was chosen intentionally (purposive location sampling) with the consideration that during the last growing season there was a change in the amount of rice yields due to climate variability. The sampling method used in this study was a simple random method (Simple Random Sampling). The number of samples taken were 30 household samples. The data used comes from primary data and secondary data. The results showed that the perceptions of rice farmers regarding climate variability in Kijang Ulu Village were that many of the farmers already knew about climate variability, farmers were aware of changes in rainfall patterns, farmers experienced a decrease in production and income due to climate variability, and an increase input costs. In income, farmers experienced a decrease of 50.01%. The adaptation strategy carried out by farmers consists of increasing the use of pesticides to reduce pest attacks. Then, intensify the fertilization used to prevent rice production from decreasing. Then, the last adaptation strategy carried out by farmers is to replace the previous seeds with superior variety seeds. Based on the results of the t-test regarding the factors that affect adaptation costs, the independent variable partially that influences adaptation costs is only one, namely land area (LL). While the variables that do not affect the cost of rice adaptation in Kijang Ulu Village are age (U), level of education (TP), number of family dependents (JT), and length of farming (LB). Keywords: adaptation cost factor, climate variability, income perception, rice farming, strategy adaptation
