This study examines “The Phenomenon of Body Shaming Victims in Faculty of Social and Political Science Student of Sriwijaya University”. The purpose of this study was to understand what is behind a person becoming a victim of body shaming and to find out the forms of body shaming experienced by victims in FISIP students of Sriwijaya University. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses the concept of Stereotypical Concepts by Hewstone. The results of this study explain that there are reasons behind a person becoming a victim of body shaming including insecurity, victims having anxiety and fear, growing feelings of heartache and hatred for the perpetrator and the identity of the perpetrator that is unacceptable to the victim. The forms of body shaming experienced by the victims were in the form of unbalanced posture, areas around the face and unattractive appearance.
