KERJA SAMA BILATERAL INDONESIA-ARAB SAUDI DALAM BIDANG PERTAHANAN TAHUN 2014-2022
Indonesia as a country that has a high awareness of the importance of safeguarding its country's sovereignty through security and defense has made several efforts so that Indonesia can avoid possible threats that could interfere with its country's sovereignty. One of the efforts made by Indonesia is to carry out bilateral cooperation with other countries. In this thesis, the author discusses one of Indonesia's efforts to safeguard its country's sovereignty through defense cooperation carried out by Indonesia and Saudi Arabia which was agreed upon in the Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA) in 2014. There were five collaborations agreed upon by Indonesia and Saudi Arabia including is cooperation related to military training and education, strategic dialogue, and exchange of intelligence information in the field of defense. In a statement via the official website issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and the Indonesian State Armed Forces, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have a focus on military training and education cooperation in tackling acts of terrorism. Apart from that, in the strategic dialogue between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, it is carried out in the JMC forum which has been carried out four times since the DCA was agreed upon by the two countries. Indonesia is aware that there is an influence that is felt after carrying out cooperation in the field of military training and education which is marked by discussions related to increasing defense cooperation carried out by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia.
