ANALISIS HAMBATAN MASUK PASAR DAN KEUNTUNGAN INDUSTRI ROTI DAN KUE INDONESIA (ISIC 10710)
The bread and cake industry is a type of food industry that is developing in Indonesia. The development of the bread and cake industry makes the contribution of the number of companies and workers to the food industry high when compared to other food industries. The large number of bakery and cake companies creates barriers to entry and makes competition for profits tougher. This study focuses on analyzing the relationship between barriers to entry and profits in the bakery and cake industry. Barriers to entry were analyzed using the minimum efficiency scale (MES) and profits were analyzed using price cost margins (PCM). The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from thes BPS for the years 2005-2019. The analysis technique used is using the correlation test. The results show that the bread and cake industry has a relatively high average MES value of 12.44 percent, this indicates that new business actors will find it difficult to enter the market. In terms of profit, the bread and cake industry has a fairly high average PCM value of 0.32, this shows that producers are able to take advantage of the inputs used. In the correlation test, the results show that there is a moderately positive relationship between barriers to market entry and profits, which can be seen from the positive Pearson correlation value of 0.56 percent, meaning that if market entry barriers increase by 1 percent, the profit rate will increase by 0.56 percent.
