This study aims to analyze the effect of social assistance spending and subsidy spending on the number of poor people in Indonesia. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the period 2005-2020. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression method with classical assumption test. The results of the study show that social assistance spending has a positive and insignificant effect on the number of poor people in Indonesia. Meanwhile, subsidy spending does not have a significant positive effect on the number of poor people in Indonesia.
