PENGARUH VARIASI HOLDING TIME NORMALIZING TERHADAP KEKERASAN MATERIAL ASSAB DENGAN TEMPERATUR 850 C
Steel is a metal alloy whose main component is iron with carbon as the main alloying agent. Medium carbon steel is a metal that is often used in the manufacture of construction machinery, in this case one of the efforts to change the mechanical properties of steel is by heat treatment. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of normalization on the assab material hardness test and to determine the effect of holding time variations that can affect the hardness value of assab material. The research method used is the pure experimental method with normalizing results affecting the return of specimen hardness to the initial hardness, and holding time normalizing variations greatly affecting the hardness value of the specimen. holding time of 10 minutes produces a hardness value of 339.02 kgf/mm2, holding time of 30 minutes produces a hardness value of 317.42 kgf/mm2, holding time of 60 minutes produces a hardness value of 312.80 kgf/mm2, and specimens without treatment 289.55 kgf /mm2.
