KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL MEDIATOR DALAM PROSES MEDIASI PENYELESAIAN PERKARA DI PENGADILAN AGAMA SEKAYU KABUPATEN MUSI BANYUASIN
Mediation is one of the alternative dispute resolutions that has been regulated in Mahkamah Agung Regulation No. 1 of 2016 to reduce the accumulation of cases in Religious Courts. In the mediation process, interpersonal communication of a mediator has an important role so that mediation can run smoothly and achieve success. This study aims to determine the interpersonal communication process of mediators in the mediation process for case settlement at the Sekayu Religious Court, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The theory used in this study is the Theory of Interpersonal Communication according to Devito. The data collection techniques in this study were in-depth interviews with 3 key informants and 4 supporting informants, observation and documentation studies. The results showed that the openness of the mediator, namely by introducing yourself and providing an honest response, empathy has not been applied optimally the mediator only listens to the party being mediated, supportivennes the mediator is by giving a direct response and decision making is left to the litigant, positivennes of the mediator is to respect opinions, give advice, praise, help the parties to understand or convey something and mediator equality i.e. conducting two-way communication, considering the mediated parties as friends and using language understood by the parties.
