Type 2 DM is the most common type of diabetes which is characterized by the body being unable to use insulin properly or insulin resistance. DM causes an increase in blood glucose levels that exceed normal limits or hyperglycemia and causes symptoms such as polyuria, polydipsia, polyphagia, feeling tired, tingling, blurred vision, and etc. Giving foot exercises is proven to help in lowering blood glucose levels. The aim of this paper is to describe nursing care for patients with type 2 DM with a focus on providing foot exercises according to evidence based. The method is a qualitative research method with a case study approach in three patients with type 2 DM and literature review uses 10 journals published in 2018-2022 which are accessed through Google Scholar dan Portal Garuda, and keywords type 2 DM, foot exercise, and blood glucose levels. The results showed that the three patients had the main complaints of drinking a lot, urinating a lot, and feeling tired. As for nursing problems, the instability of blood glucose levels is owned by every patient. So that the intervention carried out is hyperglycemia management such as identifying the cause of hyperglycemia, giving oral fluids, and advocating diet and exercise in this case is foot exercise. The implementation is done independently and also in collaboration. The nursing evaluation showed that the blood glucose levels of the three patients gradually decreased so that the problem of blood glucose level instability was partially resolved. By doing leg exercises, it can help to swift and improve blood circulation in the legs because the movement in foot exercises makes the leg muscles contract, thereby increasing the sensitivity of cells to blood glucose so that high blood glucose levels will go down because it is used by muscles. After being given three days of nursing care in all three patients, it was found that the nursing problem of blood glucose levels instability could be partially resolve. Evidence-based results show that foot exercise helps to resolve the problem of blood glucose levels instability.
