This study aims to examine the effectiveness of National Search and Rescue Agency (abbreviated Basarnas) in Palembang City during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is expected to be able to describe the extent of the performance Search and Rescue Agency in Palembang City during the Covid-19 pandemic. The theory used is the effectiveness theory of Richard and M. Steers. The research method used in this study is qualitative and the research focus is related to the effectiveness of the performance of the Palembang City Search and Rescue during the covid-19 pandemic which consists of three dimensions, namely, 1) Ability to adapt to indicators of achieving goals and work periods. 2) Work performance which consists of three indicators namely skills, experience, and sincerity of time. 3) Job satisfaction with the level of pleasure as an indicator. The results of this study indicate the effectiveness of performance at Search and Rescue Agency Palembang City based on size and ability to carry out functions, tasks, missions, and programs in accordance with the targets (quantity, quality and time) that have been set in accordance with the theory of Robert M Steers, the performance effectiveness of Search and Rescue Agency Palembang City during the Covid-19 Pandemic showed good performance. The performance effectiveness of the Search and Rescue Agency is based on three variables, namely the ability to adapt in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the existence of work performance is shown by skills, experience and sincerity of time. So that in the end every member in the organization will get job satisfaction so they feel happy with the work done. In addition, work effectiveness can be achieved if it is supported by guidance and direction from the leadership of the organization regarding the implementation of work based on work standards, both the desired time, quality and quantity.
