This thesis is entitled “THE SOSIAL CONSTRUCTION OF RELIGIOUS HARMONY (Study On The Harmony of Hindu and Muslim Religious Community in Tugu Mulyo Village, lempuing Ogan komering Ilir District)” The thesis show that the ability of the people of Tugu Mulyo Village in terms of living in a multi-religious sosial environment is a direct manifestation of the social reality that exists in Tugu Mulyo Village. This penomenon can be formed because the community’s capabilities come from the intersubjective experience of the tolerant attitude and way of life between religious communities that has been lived so far can be applied by the Tugu Mulyo Village community during their social life. The purpose of this study is to understand how harmony is formed and constructed by the community in Tugu Mulyo Village. The method used is descriptive qualitative with penomenological research strategy. Collecting data obtained by observation, studying 13 informants, documentation and literature study, then analyzed using the theory of social reality construction from Petter L. Berger. The result of this study indicate that there are harmonious living conditions between religions, especially Islam and Hiduism through the description of activities such as mutual coorperation, the Kenduri tradition, the Ngejot tradition, and Clean the village. Then there are four reasons behind the occurrence of this harmony. Then these condition are analyzed using three dealectics of social reality construction, namely self-adjustment(externalization), interaction and institutionalization(objectivation), self-identification(internalization).
