Background. Neck pain is a condition of disability that can be caused by a non ergonomic sitting position and unphysiological neck positions that are maintained for a long time. Poor sitting posture when in front of a computer screen and the long duration of sitting spent doing online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic are factors in neck pain. This study aims to determine the correlation between sitting behavior and the incidence of neck pain in Medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University. Method. This study used an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional study approach. The research sample was students of the general practitioner education program at the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University who had met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study uses primary data based on RULA assessment sheets filled in by researcher and questionnaires filled out by respondents. Results. In this study, it was found that out of a total of 63 Medical students Batch 2019, 60.3% of students had experienced neck pain during online learning. As many as 47.6% of students have a moderate level of risk of sitting posture, and 55.6% of students have high sitting duration. In the analysis using the Chi-square test, it was found that there was a significant relationship between sitting posture and neck pain with a p value of 0.002 and a significant relationship was found between sitting duration and neck pain with a p value of 0.011. Conclusion. There is a significant relationship between sitting posture and the incidence of neck pain and there is a significant relationship between sitting duration and the incidence of neck pain in Medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University.
