PERUBAHAN POLA RESISTENSI ANTIBIOTIK SEBELUM DAN SELAMA PANDEMI COVID-19 PADA PASIEN RAWAT INAP ANAK RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had many impacts on the health sector, one of which is the use of drugs such as antibiotics. Changes in patterns of antimicrobial use will drive changes in antimicrobial resistance and increase the risk of spreading to other people. Children are a population that is at risk of facing this threat. This study aimed to determine changes in patterns of antibiotic resistance before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in children hospitalized at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. This type of research is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional using secondary data from the Central Laboratory Installation at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang for October 1st 2018-September 30th 2021. The research data were analyzed univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test and linear regression. The results showed a significant increase resistance of Coagulase-Negative Staphylococi to benzylpenicillin (1,1%), and Staphylococcus aureus to oxacillin (11,5%) between the period before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. There was a change in antibiotic resistance patterns in children hospitalized at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang between before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
