Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a gradual abnormality in the structure and function of the kidneys and often leads to renal failure. Cognitive function decline in CKD patients can occur due to several factors, including side effects of hemodialysis. This study aims to see the overview of cognitive function in patients CKD on hemodialysis at the Hemodialysis Installation of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin in 2022. This research is an observational descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 65 samples taken according to the calculation of the sample size and met the inclusion criteria. The data taken are primary data in the form of sociodemographic questionnaires and MoCA-Ina (Montreal Cognitive Assessment Indonesian version) as an instrument for cognitive function assessment. This study obtained the results that patients CKD on hemodialysis at the Hemodialysis Installation of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang with the most cognitive decline in the age group of >50 years (38.5%), female gender (40.0%), education level graduated from elementary school and graduated from high school (20.0%), and had comorbid of hypertension (65.4%). The incidence of cognitive decline is mostly found in patients with a duration of hemodialysis 24 months (30.8%), taking hemodialysis therapy 2 times per week (67.7%), and starting hemodialysis therapy at the age of >50 years (35.4%). As many as 69.2% of patients CKD on hemodialysis at the Hemodialysis Installation of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang experienced a decline in cognitive function.
