PENGARUH PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK TULANG IKAN PATIN TERHADAP ANGIOGENESIS PASCA EKSTRAKSI GIGI TIKUS WISTAR
Background: Tooth extraction is a surgical procedure that can cause injury to the socket. Catfish (Pangasius pangasius) is freshwater fish which its bones can be used because it contains such as collagen and arginine. Collagen and arginine has been reported can increase the number of new blood vessels in the wound healing process. Aim: To determine the effect of catfish bone extract on angiogenesis after tooth extraction of wistar rats. Methods: This study was an in vivo laboratory study with a post test only control group design. This study used 24 male wistar rats which the lower incisor were extracted. Rats were divided into treatment groups that were given catfish bone extract and control groups that were given aquadest. The catfish bone extract was applied to the socket once a day for 7 days. The rats were euthanized on 4th, 6th, 8th day, and then the socket tissue was taken to make histological preparation. The number of new blood vessels was calculated using Olympus software and statistically analyzed. Results: Independent T-test showed a significantly higher mean number of new blood vessels in the treatment group compared to the control group on day 3 and day 7 (p
