Congenital heart disease (CHD) is a disorder acquired during fetal development that affects the heart and blood vessels structurally and functionally. CHD consists of cyanotic and acyanotic types. This study aims to describe the characteristics of cyanotic and acyanotic CHD patients underwent heart surgery at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang between 2019-2021 period. This research is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design. Samples were taken using the total sampling method of medical record data of CHD patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Of the 39 study samples, there were more female patients (53.8%) and the age group 0–2 years (38.5%). Acyanotic CHD is dominating (71.8%).
